A one-time
account activation fee of $250.00 applies for all Microsoft MapPoint Web Service
deployments. Clients should allow approximately 10 business days for delivery of
this solution.
Pricing consists of Microsoft MapPoint transaction fees and,
for applications that support a known set of authenticated devices and/or
users, a monthly "Known User" fee.
Known User Accounts
Known User Accounts are required for selected applications
that deliver MapPoint related solutions to uniquely identifiable
entities (devices or people). Known User Accounts are not required if
you are delivering MapPoint services to anonymous users or through web
sites that provide user authentication that is unrelated to a MapPoint
service. If you are unsure whether your service requires Known User
Accounts then please contact an EPI sales representative to discuss your
requirement.
Known User Accounts are priced at $2.00 per month
(each) or $22.50 per year. Volume discounts are available. You must have
an annual subscription for your MapPoint Web Service in order to
purchase Known User Accounts.

What is the primary difference
between the two types of subscriptions listed?

Monthly Pay As You Go subscriptions are
designed to provide a solution for clients with low transaction
volume requirements. They provide an ideal way to get started using
MapPoint Web Services without making a big investment. There is no
long term commitment and clients are invoiced monthly.
Because there is no long term commitment this subscription service
provides a lot of flexibility, allowing you to cancel or change your
subscription at any
time after your initial three month subscription period has expired.
You can start, for example, with an Entry Level or Bronze
subscription and upgrade to a Silver, Gold or Platinum subscription
with a simple telephone call. Likewise, you can downsize your
subscription at any time. Subscription changes are activated
beginning with the calendar month following your request for change.

Pre-Paid Annual subscriptions are designed to
support clients with medium to high transaction volumes and allow you to
purchase a large block of transactions from which you draw over the
period of your subscription. If you compare costs on a 'per
transaction' basis, this is the least expensive solution but
you are pre-paying for transactions up to one-year in advance.
If you run out of transactions before your one year subscription
term has expired you can 'top up' your subscription by buying
additional transaction blocks. 'Top up' block sizes are available in
units as small as 10,000 transactions.
What is the minimum
subscription term for this service?
Annual contracts are required for Pre-Paid Annual
subscriptions. For Pay As You Go services the minimum contract term is
three months.
Can I change Monthly Pay As You
Go hosting programs
during the term of my subscription?
Yes. Clients with Monthly Pay As You Go hosting programs
may change their hosting program at any time. Changes are
effective at the beginning of your next monthly billing cycle.
What happens if my service
requires more transactions then are included with my subscription?
For Pre-Paid Annual Subscription
clients:
If you are running low on transactions and your
subscription has not expired you may purchase additional transaction
blocks to 'top up' your subscription. 'Top Up' transaction blocks
are available in increments as small as 10,000 transactions.
If your transaction usage exceeds your pre-purchased
allowance and you have not purchased additional 'top up' transactions then "Excess Use" service charges will be invoiced to your
account. Additional (excess use) transactions are priced at $0.065 per
transaction, invoiced in minimum increments of 1,000 transactions.
'Top up' transaction purchases may not be retroactively applied to
excess usage fees.
For Monthly Pay As You Go
clients:
If your subscription exceeds your monthly
allowance then "Excess Use" service charges will be invoiced to your
account. Additional (excess use) transactions are priced at $0.065 per
transaction, invoiced in minimum increments of 1,000 transactions.
Optionally, if your transaction usage has grown then Pay As You Go customers
may change to another hosting program or, if you are already subscribing to the Platinum Level
service you may purchase additional blocks of transactions which you may
add to your monthly allowance.
Block purchases may not be
retroactively applied to excess usage fees.
Is there a way for me to see
how many transactions I am using each month?
Yes. After your service is set up you will be provided
with a User ID and password that will provide you with access to a web site
that will allow you to monitor your account usage.
What happens to unused blocks
of transactions?
For clients with a Pre-Paid Annual Subscription, transaction allowances are carried (or
"banked") through to the end of your current contract term. For example,
if your MapPoint Web Service subscription starts on June 1st and renews
on May 31st then whatever allowances you have purchased expire at
midnight of May 31st and, if required, you will need to purchase new
allowances for the subsequent renewal year.
