Regular EPI hosted Windows SharePoint Service solutions are delivered as "Extranet" web sites. This means that your service is available to anyone you invite to participate as a member of your Windows SharePoint web site.

As the Administrator of your web site, you register participants by adding them to a list of users using the Windows SharePoint Services administration pages. To add a user you simply provide Windows SharePoint Services with the new user's email address. SharePoint uses this email address to create a unique 'User ID' and password. SharePoint automatically sends this this User ID and password to the email address you provided along with an invitation too visit your SharePoint web site.

When you create a new user you assign them 'rights'. For example, you might assign one person the right to browse your site and read documents, while you might assign another person the right to create new documents or make other changes. You can change the rights of individual users at any time.

EPI also supports Windows SharePoint Service "Intranets"

"Intranets" are services which, typically, are only available to a companies employees.

For the purposes of this discussion, only individuals who are registered by your organization for Microsoft Exchange Server hosting services are considered members of your "Intranet".

When you add a new user to a Windows SharePoint Services Intranet the user must be an existing Microsoft Exchange Server user. You add them using either their pre-defined User ID or using their Microsoft Exchange Server email address.
